- Haltwhistle Spring Walking Festival, 2010
- By request Haltwhistle have included a visit to Vindolanda in their 15th walking festival.
A 4-5 mile circular walk from Vindolanda, including a Roman mile post, Roman quarries and graffiti. There are spectacular views to Hadrian's Wall, over the South Tyne Valley and to Vindolanda itself. After a picnic lunch, walkers will return to Vindolanda to hear a talk by Justin Blake, senior archaeologist, and then have time to visit the site at leisure. The walk fee of £12 includes entry to Vindolanda.
